Coimbatore: Today marked the inauguration of a new surveillance camera room and additional cameras at the Kuniyamuthur Sugunapuram check post in Coimbatore. The event was graced by the presence of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan. During his address, he emphasized that Coimbatore should be known as a safe city, even by those living abroad, and that businessmen should feel assured of the safety of their investments. He confirmed that surveillance cameras are being installed across Coimbatore to ensure safety and security. In the last two months alone, 825 cameras have been set up.
The recent installations include 25 new cameras in areas ranging from Sugunapuram to Pillaiyarpuram and PK Pudur, including the check post. This initiative, supported by local businesses and private firms, aims to increase surveillance and security in these neighborhoods. Deputy Commissioner Shanmugam, Assistant Commissioner Ragupathi Raja, Inspector V. Manivannan, and other police officers and social activist Disco Kaja were present at the event. These enhanced surveillance measures are part of Coimbatore's ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and security.
