Coimbatore: With the parliamentary elections around the corner, Tamil Nadu witnessed a significant reshuffle of IPS officers last week.
Among those transferred were Coimbatore’s Deputy Commissioners, Sandeesh and Shanmugam. Shanmugam, who previously served as the South Deputy Commissioner of Coimbatore, has been moved to Kanchipuram as the district's Superintendent of Police.
In his place, Saravanakumar, formerly the West Deputy Commissioner of Tirunelveli, has been appointed. According to an order from Tamil Nadu’s Chief Secretary Amudha, Saravanakumar officially took charge as Coimbatore's new Deputy Commissioner today. A ceremonial guard of honor was presented to him by the police force as part of the welcoming proceedings.
