Anti-Drug Awareness Street Play and Kabaddi Match Organized in Coimbatore

CSW Foundation and District Tobacco Control Cell Coimbatore conducted an anti-drug awareness street play and a kabaddi match in Periyakulam, rewarding winning students with certificates and medals.


Coimbatore: In a collaborative effort to raise awareness about drug abuse, the District Tobacco Control Cell Coimbatore and the CSW Foundation organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Street Play. The event took place in Periyakulam, near the 'I love Kovai' landmark. The initiative was aimed at educating the public, especially the youth, about the dangers of drug use.

As part of the program, a kabaddi match was also held, where 30 students from Pullukadu emerged victorious. The match was not only a sporting event but also a platform to engage the youth in healthy and positive activities, steering them away from the hazards of drug abuse.

Malathi Nagaraju, Chairman of Education, Sports, and Playgrounds at the Coimbatore Corporation, graced the occasion. She presented certificates and medals to the winning students, recognizing their achievements and encouraging their participation in such socially beneficial activities.

The event successfully combined sports and cultural performances to create a powerful message against drug abuse, resonating particularly with the younger generation. The success of the event highlighted the importance of community involvement in addressing social issues and promoting healthy lifestyles among the youth.
