Traditional Pongal Celebrations at Thadagam Police Station, Coimbatore

Police officers, including DSP Namachivayam, celebrated Pongal in traditional attire at Thadagam Police Station, Coimbatore, sharing joy and festivity with the community.


Coimbatore: Thadagam Police Station in Coimbatore witnessed a unique celebration of Samathuvam Pongal, with police officers, including DSP Namachivayam of Periyanayakanpalayam, dressed in traditional veshti (dhoti) and shirt. The event was part of the district-wide Pongal celebrations encompassing all police stations under Coimbatore jurisdiction. Sub-Inspector Jayaprakash led the festivities at Thadagam Police Station. The event involved preparing Pongal in pots, followed by offering thanks to the Sun God and sharing the sweet Pongal with the community. The police officers enthusiastically engaged in sugarcane tasting and capturing group photos with DSP Namachivayam. The event saw the participation of SI Jeevanraj, SI Ayyasamy, SI Iyyappan from Periyanayakanpalayam Special Unit, SSI Antonysamy, Head Constables Murugan, Murugesan, Special Unit Police Sellakkannu, and others, along with local residents.
