Forest Officials safely rescue elephant that fell into an abandoned well


After a day-long rescue operation, the 10 -year-old male elephant that fell into an abandoned well near Kovanur, Periyanaickenpalayam was rescued by the forest officials with the help of fire service personnel and residents of that area.   



It is presumed that this elephant could have slipped into the 45-feet well, as it was uncovered. Fortunately, the elephant did not sustain any injuries. Immediately after the rescue, the elephant ran towards the forest. 



As the rescue operation had a happy ending, the locals of that area appreciated the efforts of the rescue team for handling the rescue operation with utmost patience and care, which helped to save the life of an elephant.
