Project ‘Putri’ formally launched in Coimbatore

City-based Aram Foundation Charitable Trust has been closely working with children in the corporation and Government schools in our city. Thanks to this NGO, as about 112 girl children and their parents were counselled and the girl students attempted their XII grade exams, instead of being married off.

Today, Aram Foundation Charitable Trust in partnership with at Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) and Chennai-based NGO Avtar Human Capital Trust launched project ‘Putri’.

Putri, when translated means girl child and true to its name, this project is aimed at improving the life of the girl children of our corporation schools and a few Government schools.

“The theme for International Women’s Day was Be Bold for A Change. Back home in India this day was celebrated with the theme We are Equal. In order to commemorate this theme, we at Aram Foundation Charitable Trust are celebrating this day with the launch of project Putri that is dedicated to the girl child.” Latha Sundaram, Managing Trustee of Aram Foundation Charitable Trust said.

Throwing light on project Putri, Eshwar B of Avtar Human Capital Trust said “This project will have three components where the chosen putrid scholars will go through mentoring, interactive sessions with achievers of various fields and in a session they will also be advised on what career options are available to them.”
