Coimbatore: Yesterday (January 17), residents of a village near Periyanayakanpalayam in Coimbatore witnessed a wild elephant entering their vicinity in search of water. This occurrence, although not uncommon in the region, raised concerns among the locals.

The elephant, presumably attracted by the scarcity of water in its habitat, wandered into the village. Alerted residents quickly raised alarm and took measures to guide the elephant back into the forest, ensuring both the safety of the village and the animal.
