Coimbatore Artist UMT Raja Creates Unique Lord Ram Portrait Using Prasad Offerings

UMT Raja, a jewelry designer from Coimbatore's Kuniamuthur, crafts a portrait of Lord Ram using colored mixtures of traditional prasad items like boondi, kesari, and aval.


Coimbatore: In a unique display of devotion and artistry, UMT Raja, a jewelry designer from Kuniamuthur, Coimbatore, has created a distinctive portrait of Lord Ram using traditional prasad offerings. Inspired by the Kumbabishekam (consecration ceremony) of the Ayodhya Ram temple, Raja used a variety of sweets typically offered to Lord Ram, such as boondi, kesari, aval (flattened rice), and ellu urundai (sesame balls), incorporating colored mixtures to bring the image to life. It took him a day to complete this artwork. Expressing joy over his creation, Raja said he was delighted to dedicate this portrait to the Ayodhya Ram temple's Kumbabishekam celebrations.
