Deputy Commissioner Inspects Preparations for Thaipoosam Festival at Marudhamalai

The festival, which began on January 19 with the hoisting of the flag, is set to feature major events like the Thirukalyanam Utsavam on January 24 and Thiruther Vadam Pidithal on January 25.


Coimbatore: In preparation for the upcoming Thaipoosam festival, significant arrangements are underway at the Marudhamalai Subramaniyaswami Temple in Vadavalli. The festival, which began on January 19 with the hoisting of the flag, is set to feature major events like the Thirukalyanam Utsavam on January 24 and Thiruther Vadam Pidithal on January 25.

Given the expected influx of lakhs of devotees, the district administration, temple management, and city police have made various arrangements. Deputy Commissioner of Police Saravanakumar, North RTO Govindan, and North Tehsildar Manivel conducted an on-site inspection on January 21 to ensure proper basic and security facilities for the devotees.

Following the inspection, they instructed to facilitate the movement of devotees from the car parking area on the hill to the temple via the old staircase path, and for descending devotees to use the route through Rajagopuram. They also ordered the arrangement of necessary facilities for devotees to queue up and board buses efficiently.
