Special Train Services Announced from Coimbatore to Palani for Thai Poosam Festival

Salem Railway Division announces special train services from Coimbatore to Palani for the Thai Poosam festival, scheduled from January 25 to 28. No advance booking required for these unreserved coaches.


Coimbatore: In response to the public's anticipation for train services during the Thai Poosam festival, the Salem Railway Division has announced special train services from Coimbatore to Palani.

The services are scheduled to operate from January 25 to January 28. The train will depart from Coimbatore at 09:20 AM and follow a specific route with scheduled stops at Podanur, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi, Gomangalam, Udumalpet, Maivadi Road, Madathukulam, Pushpathur, Palani, Chathirapatti, Ottanchatram, Akkarai Patti, and finally Dindigul before making the return journey.

These special trains aim to facilitate devotees traveling to Palani for the Thai Poosam festival. Interestingly, these trains will only have unreserved coaches, meaning passengers don't need to book tickets in advance. Instead, they can purchase open tickets at the station ticket counters prior to their journey. Additionally, for those preferring digital options, the UTS mobile application allows for the convenient purchase of open tickets anytime, enhancing the ease of travel for festival attendees.
