Volunteers continue to clean the Selvachinthamani lake for the second consecutive week.

In continuation with last week's cleaning drive, volunteers gathered early this morning  to clean the Selvachinthamani lake this week too.

During last cleaning drive, loads of trash including mostly plastic wastes were removed from the water body. Seemai Karuvelam trees were also uprooted from the lake using JCB's.

Despite being a Sunday, hundreds of determined volunteers yet again joined hands today to clean the remaining part of the Selvachinthamani lake. 'The cleaning drive would continue till the entire water is transformed into a pristine state. Probably, in another 4 to 6 weeks our task would be accomplished,' shared a volunteer.
