MP A. Raja Initiates the Restoration of Kosavan Kutai near Coimbatore

The restoration work of Kosavan Kutai in Ward No. 3 of Gudalur Municipality, Coimbatore, costing Rs. 34 lakhs, was commenced by Nilgiris MP A. Raja, marking a significant step towards environmental conservation and water management.


Coimbatore: In an important environmental conservation effort, Nilgiris Member of Parliament, A. Raja, laid the foundation for the restoration of Kosavan Kutai in Ward No. 3 of GudalurMunicipality, Coimbatore District. The project, valued at Rs. 34 lakhs, began on February 9, symbolizing a commitment to sustainable water management and ecological balance.

Accompanied by District Secretary Tho. Iravi, Koodalur Municipality Chairman A. Arivarasu, Vice Chairman Mrs. Rathi Rajendran, and members of the municipal council, district, union, city, and branch party administrators, MP A. Raja initiated the restoration works. The presence of public officials and local residents underscored the community's support for the project.

This restoration initiative aims not only to improve water storage capacity and prevent flooding but also to enhance the local ecosystem. By reviving Kosavan Kutai, the project seeks to address urban water management challenges, ensuring a healthier environment for the residents of Coimbatore.
