Coimbatore Corpn Places Flex Banners in Parsn Sesh Nestlé as part of Property Tax Drive

The Coimbatore Corporation's enhanced property tax recovery efforts have led to notable actions against high-value properties, shops, retail establishments including Parsn Sesh Nestlé, with the use of notices and banners to highlight unpaid taxes.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation's intensified property tax collection campaign has taken a significant turn with actions against premium properties, such as Parsn Sesh Nestlé on Nanjundapuram Road, Ramanathapuram. This measure, part of a broader financial recovery strategy, involves sealing businesses and placing flags and banners on properties delinquent on their taxes.

Coimbatore Corporation has ramped up its property tax collection drive across the city, sealing offices, shops, and other commercial establishments while displaying flags and banners on properties with long overdue taxes.

This aggressive measure aims to recuperate pending dues crucial for the Corporation, which is currently experiencing a financial shortfall impacting basic civic operations. The city’s recent 43rd ranking in the Swachh Survekshan Rankings, attributed to inadequate garbage collection, underscores the urgent need for improved funding.

Highlighting the severity of the situation, a councillor from the Madhukarai area recently revealed that the Nehru group of institutions alone owes over ₹3 crores in property tax. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure the Corporation can continue providing quality civic services to the residents of Coimbatore.
