'District Administration should ensure removal of Tasmacs from all residential areas in the city' says Residents of Ward No:45.

The residents of Ward No.45 in Ganapathy today petitioned the District Collector on closure of the Tasmac in their residential area. Public demand for closure of liquor shops in residential areas has started sprouting up, as every week during the petition day residents raise similar complaints.

"Tasmac shop (No:1548) which was functioning in our ward has been re-located to another place after persistent protests and petitions by us. But, now few people are planning to bring back the Tasmac to the same location. And, all preliminary work to set up the Tasmac is going on at a silent and snarl pace.

People of this ward have faced enough and more problems due to the Tasmac. Drunkards lying all over the place will set a bad example to the students and teenagers, who pass-by.  Lot of school/college going children and pedestrians will have to face embarrassing situations due to the boosehounds. The drunkards flock all over the place and indulge in teasing and misbehaving to women. Hence, the district administration should act on priority and stop the opening of Tasmac in our residentail area'.
