Coimbatore: In preparation for the grand Mahashivratri celebrations, the Adiyogi Ratha Yatra is set to traverse the streets of Coimbatore from February 26 to March 6, 2024. Organized annually by Thenkailaya Bhakti Peravai, the Ratha Yatra aims to bring the spirit of the festival closer to devotees across the region who may not be able to visit the Adiyogi or Isha Yoga Center in person.

A press conference was held today at the Coimbatore Press Club to announce the details of the Yatra. Shri Valluvan, a volunteer with Thenkailaya Bhakti Peravai, outlined the journey of the Adiyogi Ratham, which will kick off from Pollachi and make its way through Sundarapuram, Kuniyamuthur, Singanallur, Peelamedu, Chinniyampalayam, Saravanampatti, Periyanayakanpalayam, Kavundampalayam, Ganapathy, Gandhipuram, R.S.Puram, Selvapuram, Vadavalli, and other areas of Coimbatore until March 6th.

Starting on January 5th from the Adiyogi in Coimbatore, this year's Ratha Yatra was inaugurated by Perur Adheenam Thavathiru Santhalinga Marudachal Adigalar, featuring four Adiyogi Rathams. The procession is covering an impressive distance of approximately 35,000 km over 60 days, concluding its journey back at the Isha Yoga Center.

The 30th annual Mahashivratri festival, to be held on March 8th, promises to be a grand affair, taking place in front of the majestic 112 feet tall Adiyogi at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. The festival will also be broadcast live at 36 locations across Tamil Nadu, ensuring devotees everywhere can partake in the festivities.

Volunteers Shri Unnikrishnan and Shri Dinakaran from Thenkailaya Bhakti Peravai were also present at the press conference, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the Ratha Yatra and the Mahashivratri celebrations.
