Coimbatore: The Salem Railway Division has made significant changes to train operations between Mettupalayam and Tirunelveli due to scheduled maintenance work on the railway tracks. In a recent announcement made on February 22, the railway administration stated that the ongoing track rehabilitation efforts necessitate the temporary suspension of train services on this route.

As per the notice, the special train service from Tirunelveli to Mettupalayam (06030), scheduled for the 25th of February, has been fully cancelled. Similarly, the return service from Mettupalayam to Tirunelveli (06029) on the 26th of February will also not operate. These cancellations are part of the railway's commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of its services through regular maintenance and upgrades.

Passengers planning to travel on these dates are advised to seek alternative arrangements and stay updated on further announcements from the Salem Railway Division. This temporary disruption is expected to facilitate smoother and safer train operations in the long term, once the maintenance work has been completed.
