Mayor and Commissioner Conduct Inspection at Velliyangadu Water Purification Plant

Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and Municipal Commissioner Ma. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, IAS, inspected the Velliyangadu Water Purification Plant in Coimbatore District, evaluating the water quality, storage, and purification processes on February 24, 2024.


Coimbatore: In a significant move to ensure the quality of drinking water, the Mayor, Mrs. Kalpana Anandakumar, and Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Ma. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, IAS, inspected the Velliyangadu Water Purification Plant within Coimbatore District on February 24, 2024. Their visit focused on assessing the water quality, storage capacities, and the operational efficacy of the purification processes at the plant.

Joined by Deputy Mayor Mr. R. Vetriselvan, Council Member Mr. Aslam Basha, City Engineer Mr. Murugesan, Assistant City Engineers Mr. Sakthivel, Mr. Sathiyamoorthy, and Mr. Nasar, along with Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board Engineers Mr. Johnson and Mr. Madhesan, and other municipal officials, the inspection team reviewed the plant's facilities in detail.



This inspection underscores the city administration's commitment to maintaining high standards of water quality for its residents. The team's visit is part of ongoing efforts to monitor and enhance the city's water supply infrastructure, ensuring that the purification processes meet the necessary standards for public health and safety.
