In Thondamuthur, a street play conducted on Feb 24 by the Agriculture Department highlighted various government agricultural projects, including crop cultivation, input materials, and organic farming practices, aiming to educate the public.

Coimbatore: In an innovative approach to spreading awareness about agricultural practices and government schemes, a street play was organized in Thondamuthur on February 24. The event was spearheaded by the Agriculture Department, showcasing a unique blend of art and information dissemination.

The performance, executed by the Vidiyal Art Group, utilized traditional instruments and dramatic narratives to highlight central and state government projects related to crop cultivation, input materials, crop varieties, minor grain seeds, chemical and organic fertilizers, and methods of utilizing organic inputs effectively. Additionally, the play emphasized the importance of downloading and registering on the Uzhavan app, encouraging farmers to pre-book their plans through the platform.

By engaging the community through cultural expression, the initiative aimed not only to educate the public on the myriad of agricultural schemes available but also to encourage the adoption of sustainable farming practices. This effort reflects a growing recognition of the importance of grassroots movements in promoting agricultural development and environmental sustainability.
