Coimbatore MP P.R. Natarajan Criticizes BJP for Intimidating Adheenams

Coimbatore MP P.R. Natarajan, at a book release and public meeting in Siddhapudur, criticizes the BJP's governance, alleging increased commodity prices and harm to small businesses due to GST, and accuses BJP of attempting to intimidate Adheenams.

Coimbatore: During a book release event and public meeting held on March 3, 2024, in VKK Menon Road, Siddhapudur, Coimbatore, MP P.R. Natarajan, representing the Marxist Communist Party, launched a scathing attack on the BJP. The event, which marked the unveiling of a book detailing Natarajan's five-year service to the people, was attended by key figures from the Indian alliance parties, including CPM State Committee member A. Soundararajan and State Executive member N. Gunasekaran.

Soundararajan and Gunasekaran highlighted the steep rise in the prices of essential commodities like petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinders over the past ten years under BJP's rule. They criticized the implementation of GST and other tax policies that have adversely affected small and medium businesses. They urged the public to support the Indian alliance in the upcoming parliamentary elections to prevent BJP from coming to power again, accusing the party of using religion to create divisions among the people.

In his speech, P.R. Natarajan thanked the people of Coimbatore for their support in the 2019 elections and criticized the BJP for intimidating Adheenams in Tamil Nadu. He pointed out a recent case involving an Enforcement Directorate officer, Angith Tiwari, who was arrested for accepting a bribe to cancel cases against a government doctor in Dindigul. Natarajan questioned how a lower-ranking officer could demand such a large bribe without the knowledge of higher authorities, mocking Annamalai's claims of eradicating corruption.

Natarajan called on the administrators and volunteers of the Marxist Communist Party to work diligently for the success of the Indian alliance candidate in Coimbatore, emphasizing the importance of unity in the upcoming elections.
