In a bid to increase the green cover and utilize the reserve sites purposefully, tree saplings were planted at the Corporation reserve site, in Chandrakanthi Nagar, Peelamedu pertaining to Ward No:56 (east zone).
Corporation Commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan along with Deputy Commissioner of Corporation P. Gandhimathi and residents of Chandrakanthi street were present during the planting. A child from the residential area was called upon to plant the rare species of tree. The residents of Ward No:56 welcomed the move of the Corporation of planting tree saplings at the reserve site.
The officials also visited the Corporation Park at Ward No:75 of Bharathidasan Street. Corporation Commissioner interacted with the residents of that area and Assistant Corporation (East Zone) Ravikumar regarding the facilities in the park.
