On March 7, Mahendran (49), a resident of Puliyakulam Setti Street, was leisurely drinking tea at a bakery opposite the railway station when two youths stealthily took Rs. 100 from his pant pocket and attempted to flee the scene.
Alerted by the sudden theft, Mahendran quickly sprang into action with the help of bystanders, successfully detaining one of the perpetrators. They were then handed over to the Race Course Police Station for further action.
