Thombulipalayam crematorium formally handed over to Isha Foundation for maintenance by Alandurai Town Panchayat


A press release from the Isha Foundation pointed out that recently, on behalf of Alandurai Town Panchayat, a Liquefied Petroleum Gas or (LPG) crematorium was opened for public use at Thombulipalayam. The release pointed out that Isha Foundation has contributed Rs. 27 lacs for this infrastructure and the Lions Club has contributed for the flooring and a mortuary van at this crematorium.



‘As requested by Alandurai Town Panchayat, Isha Foundation accepted to operate and maintain this crematorium.’ said the release.

Minister S.P. Velumani presided over an event marking this occasion at the office of Alandurai Town Panchayat. In his address, Minister S.P. Velumani said “Isha Foundation has been operating the 8 crematoriums handed over to them with utmost sanctity, just like maintaing a temple. We definitely trust that Isha Foundation will maintain the Thombulipalayam Crematorium too in the same fashion.”



 Isha Foundation is currently operating and maintaining six crematoriums in Coimbatore and two crematoriums in Chennai.
