The count-down for the grand finale of the Smart India Hackathon has begun

The Grand Finale of ‘Smart India Hackathon 2017’, which is regarded as the world’s largest digital product building competition is scheduled to be hosted on 1 and 2 April, 2017. This grand event is organized by AICTE, MHRD, My Gov, NIC and NASSCOM, to name a few. The 36-hour grand finale is scheduled to be held at 26 nodal centres across India simultaneously. Back home in Coimbatore, this grand finale will be hosted at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology. About 11 teams from this educational Institution have been selected to participate in this grand event at other nodal centres across India.

A statement issued by the Principal of this educational institution stated that Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology is one of the 26 prestigious nodal centres of Smart India Hackathon. As a part of this event, the participating teams will simultaneously compete from across 26 locations in India to offer digital and sustainable innovative solutions to solve real time 598 problems posted by 29 Ministries of Government of India. The event aims to harness the creativity of bright young minds and is touted to be the biggest hackathon in the world till date and aiming to create a Guinness world record for the same.

The statement also pointed out that Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore is the nodal centre for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
