Coimbatore Ramps Up Security for Prime Minister Modi's Roadshow Event; SPG and Local Forces Leads Pre-Event Security Checks

Coimbatore is under a security blanket with the Special Protection Group and local forces conducting an extensive review ahead of Prime Minister Modi's roadshow. The initiative follows authorization by the Madras High Court amidst previous permissions being declined.

Coimbatore: With Prime Minister Modi's roadshow event scheduled in Coimbatore the day after tomorrow, the city has been thrust into a heightened state of alert. An intricate web of security measures has been put into place by the Coimbatore district administration and the city's police department. In a significant part of these preparations, the Special Protection Group (SPG), tasked with the Prime Minister's security, has conducted detailed surveys from Sai Baba Colony to R.S. Puram to assess and strengthen the security infrastructure required for the event.

This surge in security activities follows a favorable verdict from the Madras High Court, which has allowed the roadshow to proceed despite an initial denial of permission for the Prime Minister's proposed route. Consequently, security strategies have been aggressively enhanced. Key locations around the event venue have been designated as red zones and brought under the strict surveillance of both the Coimbatore City Police and Central Intelligence, all under the watchful eyes of SPG officers. These areas are now under constant vigilance, with security forces working round the clock to ensure a secure environment.

The proactive and sudden security assessments by the SPG, in partnership with local police forces, have sparked considerable attention in the community, ensuring a secure atmosphere for both the roadshow and its attendees. This collaborative effort highlights the extensive measures being undertaken to safeguard the event, affirming the commitment to the security of the Prime Minister, participants, and the public at large.
