Boundary Lines Drawn Around Coimbatore Collector's Office Ahead of Nomination Filings

With the nomination process for the Lok Sabha elections set to begin, boundary lines have been drawn around the Coimbatore Collector's office to ensure compliance with election regulations.

Coimbatore: As the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 19th draw near, stringent preparations are underway in Coimbatore. In accordance with election guidelines, boundary lines marking 100 meters and 200 meters have been delineated around the Coimbatore District Collector's office, signaling the commencement of the nomination filing process set to start from tomorrow, March 20, 2024, and will continue until March 27, 2024.

Following the nomination phase, a scrutiny of the applications is slated for March 28, with March 30 marked as the last day for the withdrawal of nominations. This procedural setup is in anticipation of the massive influx of candidates expected to file their nominations for the upcoming elections.

The demarcation work began today, covering crucial routes leading to the District Collector's office including Nanjappa Road, the road towards the railway station, and the Avinashi Road. These boundary lines are critical in regulating the entry of candidates and their supporters into the premises, ensuring that only the candidates along with a specified number of individuals are allowed beyond these points, in line with election commission rules.

This measure is aimed at maintaining order and ensuring that the nomination process is carried out smoothly, without any disruptions. As candidates prepare to file their nominations, these boundary lines serve as a reminder of the stringent regulations in place to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

Furthermore, the allowance of candidates with their supporters up to the specified boundary and the restriction of entry beyond it underscores the election commission's commitment to a fair and orderly nomination process. As the city gears up for the elections, these precautions underscore the seriousness with which the electoral procedures are approached, ensuring a level playing field for all candidates.

With the election atmosphere heating up, Coimbatore is all set for the upcoming nomination filings, with the District Collector's office at the heart of these preparations. The community looks forward to a competitive and orderly election period, as the boundaries drawn today symbolize the start of an important democratic process.
