Announcement of Candidates and Their Symbols for Coimbatore Lok Sabha Constituency

Coimbatore District Administration has announced the list of candidates and their respective symbols for the Lok Sabha elections on April 19, with 37 candidates in the fray.


Coimbatore: As the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 19 approach, the Coimbatore District has finalized the nomination process, leading to the announcement of 37 candidates who will be contesting for the Coimbatore parliamentary seat. Today, March 30, marks the announcement of both party candidates and independents alongside their election symbols, a crucial aspect of their campaigns.


The BJP candidate, Annamalai, has been allotted the Lotus symbol, while AIADMK's Singai Ramachandran will campaign under the Two Leaves symbol. DMK's Ganapathi Rajkumar will use the Rising Sun, and Naam Tamilar Katchi's Kalamani Jeganathan is assigned the Olive Branch. Other notable symbols include the Elephant for Bahujan Samaj Party's Vel Murugan, Refrigerator for Rashtriya Samaj Paksha's Anandakumar, and Lady Finger for the Kanasangam Party of India's Kumar.


Independent candidates have been given a wide variety of symbols, ranging from Battery Torch, Hour Glass, Immersion Rod, Coconut Farm, School Bag, Ginger, Ship, Cauliflower, Capsicum, Shoe, Electric Pole, Carrom Board, Brick, Laptop, Cake, Grapes, Diamond, to Jackfruit. These symbols play a pivotal role in voter recognition and are a testament to the diverse political landscape of the Coimbatore constituency.


This announcement paves the way for a vibrant and competitive election, with candidates now gearing up to connect with voters and promote their symbols and agendas. The Coimbatore electorate is set for an engaging election season as they weigh their options among the diverse array of candidates and symbols presented to them.
