Public Highlights Price Hike to A. Raja During Campaign in Mettupalayam

In Mettupalayam, part of the Nilgiris parliamentary constituency, locals, especially women, showcased the price differences in groceries to A. Raja during his campaign on April 11, comparing costs between 2014 Congress and 2024 BJP governance.

Coimbatore: During a campaign rally on April 11 in Mettupalayam, which falls under the Nilgiris parliamentary constituency, A. Raja, the parliamentary candidate, encountered a unique demonstration by the public.

Highlighting the inflation and rising costs of groceries over the past decade, locals, particularly women, laid out grocery items on the street to visually demonstrate the price differences between the governance periods of the Congress in 2014 and the BJP in 2024.

Following this illustrative protest, A. Raja symbolically adorned the grocery items with a garland. The event was attended by DMK administrators and party workers, marking a significant moment in the campaign trail where the everyday concerns of inflation and cost of living were vividly brought to the forefront by the constituents.
