Kamal Haasan Supports DMK Candidate Eswarasamy in Pollachi for Upcoming Elections

Kamal Haasan campaigns for DMK candidate Eswarasamy in Pollachi, emphasizes long-term connection with the region and highlights achievements of DMK.

Coimbatore: In a strategic political move, Kamal Haasan has come forward to support DMK candidate Eswarasamy in the Pollachi constituency for the upcoming elections. The campaign event took place in front of the Pollachi central bus station, where Kamal Haasan addressed the gathering.

Highlighting his 60-year connection with Pollachi, Kamal Haasan mentioned, "Pollachi and I have shared a bond for decades. There are two crore coconut trees in Pollachi, out of a total of four crore in Tamil Nadu." He praised the efforts of former leader Kalaignar in establishing a welfare board for farmers, a farmers' market, and discharging ₹7000 crore in agriculture loans as exemplary of the Dravidian model.

Furthermore, Kamal Haasan praised current Chief Minister M K Stalin for providing free electricity, a separate budget for agriculture, and two lakh new electricity connections exclusively for agriculture. He compared these accomplishments with the central government's approach towards agriculture in the past decade, critically noting the central government's minimal support for farmers who demanded a fair minimum support price in Delhi.

Concluding his speech, Kamal Haasan urged the public, "Consider what is best for you and vote for the rising sun symbol. Let's shape our tomorrow by making the right choice today." His endorsement not only strengthens Eswarasamy's campaign but also underlines the significant impact of regional leaders on local politics.
