Police Conduct Surprise Checks in Coimbatore Hotels Amid Election Preparations

In light of the first phase of the Parliament elections, Coimbatore's District Collector has ordered non-residents to leave immediately. Police are now checking hotels for the presence of outsiders.


Coimbatore: As the first phase of the Parliament elections is set to begin tomorrow from 7 AM to 6 PM, stringent security measures are in place. In preparation, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has issued an order for all non-residents staying in the district to vacate immediately to ensure a smooth electoral process.



Following this directive, police have launched surprise checks in various lodging facilities throughout Coimbatore today, April 18th, to verify if any outsiders are currently accommodated in these establishments. These steps are taken to prevent any unlawful activities and maintain order during the election period.
