Lok Sabha elections 2024: EVMs and VVPATs Dispatched to Polling Centres in Coimbatore 

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections on April 19, EVMs, VVPATs, and other electoral materials have been dispatched to various polling centres in Coimbatore under tight security. 



Coimbatore: As the city gears up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for tomorrow, April 19, essential polling materials including Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) have been dispatched to respective polling centres. 

The distribution was closely supervised by Coimbatore District Collector and Election Officer, Kranthi Kumar Pati. 



Officials from various polling stations across the constituency received the materials amid heightened security measures. Similar logistical operations were conducted in nearby parliamentary constituencies including Pollachi, Tiruppur, and Nilgiris.



Following the voting process, all EVMs and VVPATs will be securely transported to the strong rooms established at the Government College Of Technology on Thadagam Road.



A total of 2,083,034 voters are eligible for voting in the Coimbatore parliamentary constituency, spanning six assembly constituencies with the following voter numbers: Coimbatore South (243,220), Coimbatore North (335,072), Singanallur (327,491), Sulur (321,803), Kavundampalayam (462,612), and Palladam (392,836), ensuring a comprehensive voter turnout for the polls.
