Sudden Fire Outbreak Along Udumalai Road Causes Distress Among Public

A sudden fire incident occurred along the Udumalai-Munnar Road near Kongalakurichi village causing heavy smoke and distress among nearby residents. Firefighters battled the blaze for half an hour.


Coimbatore: A sudden fire incident along the roadside near Udumalai has caused significant distress among the local populace. The incident took place today near Kongalakurichi village on the Udumalai-Munnar Road, where highly flammable materials were reportedly lying on the roadside, leading to an unanticipated outbreak of fire.


The rapid spread of the fire produced a massive smoke cloud, significantly affecting nearby residential areas. Residents suffered severe inconvenience due to the heavy smoke, which obscured visibility and polluted the air. As the fire department was alerted about the situation, Station Officer Lakshmanan led the firefighting team from Udumalai.



The team engaged vigorously and managed to contain the fire after approximately thirty minutes of intense effort, preventing further spread.
