Election Commission's flying squad seized Rs 8.59 lakh from a DMK leader's car in The Nilgiris yesterday, with BJP workers and officials engaging in a quarrel during the operation.

Coimbatore: On Wednesday, the Election Commission's flying squad conducted a successful operation in The Nilgiris, where they confiscated Rs 8.59 lakh in cash from the vehicle of Nellai Kannan, a DMK union secretary of Kotagiri. The car, managed by driver Naveen Kumar, was stationed at Sakkatha locality near Kotagiri when the squad acted upon a tip-off regarding money distribution.
