In observance of World Earth Day, 1000 saplings were planted in a 27-acre area in Pillaiyarpuram, under Madukkarai Range, Coimbatore, facilitated by Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu.
Coimbatore: Marking World Earth Day, a significant tree-planting event took place today in Pillaiyarpuram, falling under the Madukkarai Range in Coimbatore District.

The event saw the planting of 1000 saplings over an extensive 27-acre land area. This green initiative was organized by the Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu.

Students and professors from KPR College of Arts, Science, and Research participated eagerly, alongside volunteers from the Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu.

They planted a diverse array of saplings including tamarind, jackfruit, cannonball tree, drumstick, neem, Indian beech, naval tree, Sivagundalam, parampai, and kodukkapuli, totaling 100 different species.

Notable attendees included K. Jothirlingam from the Tamil Nadu Forest Department and P.V. Gopal, chairman of Poolaimedu Consumer Voice, along with Ra. Manikandan, all of whom actively participated in the event.
