Kranthi Kumar Pati IAS led a meeting in Coimbatore with municipal bodies and sectors to coordinate the provision of uninterrupted water supply throughout the summer season.
Coimbatore: A significant coordination meeting was convened today, April 22, under the leadership of District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati IAS, addressing the critical issue of providing uninterrupted water supply to the public throughout the upcoming summer months. Held at the District Collector’s office, the discussion included key officials from the Municipal Corporation, Town Panchayats, and Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD).

Officials including the Commissioner of Corporation Shivaguru Prabhakaran IAS, Additional Collector (Development) Swetha Suman IAS, and several revenue officials participated. The core agenda was to ensure the effective management and distribution of water according to the plans laid out by TWAD. It was noted that maintenance is crucial to prevent leaks and explosions in water pipes and to promptly repair any issues with electrical motors used in the pumping of water.

District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati IAS emphasized on the importance of coordinated action among various local bodies including Municipalities, Town Panchayats, and Village Panchayats to ensure that the last mile water delivery is effective and that all residential sectors receive adequate water supply. He also underlined the need for diligent water management and urged public cooperation in using water sparingly, given the decreased rainfall this year and the ongoing summer period.
The meeting also dealt with developing mechanisms to regularly supervise the water supply to urban and rural dwellings and ensuring that all areas get an equitable distribution of water. Additionally, public awareness campaigns about the critical importance of water conservation during this dry season are set to be intensified.
