The temple, usually open for devotees to perform this sacred tradition, was locked due to an ongoing legal dispute regarding the temple land in Coimbatore court. Unaware of the closure, many arrived only to find the temple gates shut and a notice explaining the situation. This left them unable to perform the traditional walk around the temple, deeply disappointing the gathered devotees.
