Devotees Disappointed as Vellalore Emadarmaraja Temple Remains Closed Due to Legal Issues

On April 23, 2024, many devotees faced disappointment as Vellalore Emadarmaraja Temple in Coimbatore was closed due to ongoing legal issues, preventing their traditional circumambulation.

Coimbatore: Vellalore Emadarmaraja Temple, revered for its ancient heritage, faced unexpected closure today, causing distress among hundreds of devotees who arrived for the Pournami ritual circumambulation. The temple, usually open for devotees to perform this sacred tradition, was locked due to an ongoing legal dispute regarding the temple land in Coimbatore court. Unaware of the closure, many arrived only to find the temple gates shut and a notice explaining the situation. This left them unable to perform the traditional walk around the temple, deeply disappointing the gathered devotees.
