Special Hats Provided to Traffic Police in Coimbatore Amid Soaring Temperatures

Coimbatore experiences temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, impacting the public and on-duty traffic police. Special hats distributed on April 24 to protect them from the heat.

Coimbatore: As Coimbatore grapples with scorching temperatures that have recently exceeded 100 degrees Fahrenheit, both the public and the traffic police on duty are experiencing considerable discomfort. In response to the relentless sun, special hats were issued to the city's traffic police on April 24th to provide some much-needed relief.

The initiative aims to shield the officers from the harsh effects of heat while they manage traffic across the city. According to a police official, Coimbatore is home to over 50 traffic signals, with numerous officers deployed daily. The introduction of these special hats is a critical measure to ensure their wellbeing in such extreme weather conditions.
