In Coimbatore, a man named Jayachandran was beaten to death by his sister's brother, Suruli, and four friends after he was allegedly involved in a love affair with a local woman. The incident occurred near a petrol pump in Vellalore Road.
Coimbatore: A tragic event unfolded in Coimbatore when a 23-year-old man named Jayachandran was fatally assaulted by his sister's brother and friends over a love affair. Jayachandran, who worked at a petrol pump on Vellalore Road, was reportedly in a relationship with a local woman for the past two years. The woman's brother, Suruli (28), also known as Surendran, became aware of the relationship and frequently quarreled with Jayachandran.
Last Thursday, Suruli visited the petrol pump where Jayachandran worked and lured him to a secluded area near Thadagam on his bike. There, Suruli's friends, Ajith, Naveen, Karthik, and Kuzhandhai, were already present. The group brutally attacked Jayachandran with wooden sticks, inflicting severe injuries.

Following the assault, the attackers threatened Jayachandran and left him severely injured. Family members later admitted him to the Coimbatore Government Hospital. Despite receiving treatment, Jayachandran succumbed to his injuries and passed away on April 29.
Following his death, Jayachandran's mother filed a complaint at the Pothanur police station. The police have converted the case to a homicide investigation and are currently searching for the five suspects, Suruli, Ajith, Naveen, Karthik, and Kuzhandhai.
