Pollachi Commissioner Urges Prudent Use of Water Amid Low Reservoir Levels

Pollachi Commissioner Subbaiah has instructed the public to conserve water as levels in key reservoirs drop. The 36 wards served by Amberamabalaipalayam river face reduced water supply.

Coimbatore: In a vital announcement today, Pollachi Commissioner Subbaiah has urged the residents to use water judiciously. This comes as a response to the falling water levels at Azhiyar Dam, which consequently affected the water output. As the main water source for all 36 wards of Pollachi municipality, the Amberamabalaipalayam river processes and delivers drinking water to the public. Subbaiah stated that everyone must conserve water to cope with this scarcity.

In further detail, the Water Department officials reported the current levels of key dams under PABP (Pollachi-Aliyar Bhavani Project) as of 8 AM today. Solaiyar Dam has a water level of 04.94 feet, Parambikulam at 11.97 feet, Azhiyar standing at 59.90 feet, and Thirumurthy at 22.66 feet. These levels indicate critical water management needs in the region.
