DMK Organizes Labor Day Celebration in Coimbatore, Distributes Aid to Auto Workers

On May 1st, in honor of Labor Day, Coimbatore DMK held an event at the district office in Tatabad, distributing welfare aids to over 200 auto workers.


Coimbatore: The city’s DMK district office located in Tatabad was buzzing with activity as the Coimbatore DMK celebrated Labor Day on May 1st. The event was highlighted by the distribution of various welfare aids to auto workers, enhancing the community support initiated by the party.


Karthik, the DMK city secretary for Coimbatore and former MLA, led the proceedings. He paid tribute to the statue of the revered leader Kalaignar by garlanding and offering floral respects, a gesture that underscored the party's respect and adherence to its roots and values.


The event commenced with a ceremonial address and homage at the statue, followed by the distribution of sweets among those present. The highlight of the day was the provision of welfare assistance to more than 200 auto workers, which included essential supplies and financial aids to support their livelihood amidst the economic strains brought about by the current climate.



The distribution ceremony saw the active participation of prominent DMK members including Kotai Abbas, SM.P. Murugan, and various local leaders and administrators of the LPF Auto Workers Union. Their collective efforts made the event a significant outreach to the auto worker community, addressing their needs and ensuring their welfare.



Notable attendees included leaders from various DMK committees and unions such as B. Vanangamudi, AS Jayakumar, Tempo Siva, and Karate Arjunan. They were joined by administrative heads of the LPF Auto Workers Union, contributing to the success of the event.



This gathering was not just about aid distribution but also a reaffirmation of the DMK’s commitment to worker welfare and labor rights. It provided a platform for auto workers to voice their issues and receive immediate assistance, reinforcing the DMK’s role as a supportive and proactive entity in workers’ rights advocacy.



The event concluded with communal harmony and promises of further support, leaving a lasting impact on the attendees and enhancing DMK’s connect with the grassroots level workers.
