Green Shelters Damaged in Kannappa Nagar Due to Strong Winds

In Coimbatore, the newly installed green shelters at Kannappa Nagar check post were completely damaged yesterday due to strong winds, causing distress among motorists.

Coimbatore: With the scorching heat affecting citizens, the city administration has been installing green shelters at various locations including signals and check posts across Coimbatore. Recently, a green shelter set up at Kannappa Nagar check post had received positive feedback from the public.

However, starting from the afternoon of May 4th, severe winds have been lashing various parts of Coimbatore. As a result, the green shelter at Kannappa Nagar check post suffered extensive damage. This incident has caused disappointment among vehicle drivers who found relief under these shelters from the harsh summer heat.

The city administration is currently assessing the damage and planning to reinforce the installation to withstand similar weather conditions in the future. Meanwhile, residents and motorists are urged to remain cautious during strong winds.
