State-level Basketball Tournament Begins in Udumalai with 24 Teams Participating

In Udumalai, at the Netaji Sports Complex, a state-level basketball tournament has begun with participation from 24 teams from various cities like Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: The eagerly anticipated state-level basketball tournament kicked off today at the Netaji Sports Complex in Udumalai, organized by the Udumalai Basketball Academy. Teams from cities including Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore are competing, with a total of 24 teams participating in this high-spirited event.


The opening match was a thrilling face-off between the university team from Gandhigram and the Dharapuram Basketball Team, ending in a close score of 80-82 in favor of Gandhigram University.




The subsequent games continued the excitement, with the Kongunadu Basketball Team clashing against the Pollachi Basketball Club. Pollachi emerged victorious with a score of 61-51. Later, the Royal Basketball Club scored a commendable win against Vathalagundu Basketball Team, with a final score of 76-67, capping off an action-packed day.


The event was attended by notable sports figures including Youth Welfare Officer Ragukumar, UKP Muthukumarasamy, R.V.G Sports Academy's Julia Santhosh, Udumalai Marturi Vasanthakumar, and District Physical Education Inspector Mahendran, among others.
