On Friday, 184 school buses in Dharapuram, Kundadam, and Mulanur areas were inspected for safety standards and operational readiness by local officials.
Dharapuram: In a comprehensive inspection initiative, around 210 school buses operating in private schools within Dharapuram, Kundadam, and Mulanur were scrutinized at the area's regional transport office grounds.

The inspection was aimed at ensuring the vehicles' adherence to safety norms and was conducted by a team comprising Revenue Sub-Collector Senthilarasan, Regional Transport Officer C. Senthil Kumar, District Educational Officer Anandi, Motor Vehicle Inspector J. Senthilkumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kalaiyarasan, and Fire Station Officer Jayachandran.

A total of 184 vehicles underwent a thorough inspection where various critical aspects were checked, including the functionality of brakes, doors, firefighting equipment, first aid kits, and emergency exit operations.

The drivers' licenses and physical fitness were also scrutinized.

Moreover, drivers received training from the fire service department on handling emergencies.
Following the inspections, Regional Transport Officer C. Senthil Kumar disclosed that 3 vehicles were deemed unfit and were taken out of service to ensure student safety on the road.
