Young Man Injured as Tree Falls Due to Heavy Rain in Sivanandha Colony, Coimbatore

In Coimbatore's Sivanandha Colony, a tree unexpectedly fell on a young man during a heavy downpour. The local community assisted in rescuing him, and he was hospitalized with a leg fracture.


Coimbatore: A severe weather incident led to a life-threatening situation in Sivanandha Colony today, on May 14, 2024. During a heavy rainfall, Ayyappan, a 24-year-old resident of Saibaba Colony, was riding his motorcycle when a 35-year-old tree on the roadside unexpectedly collapsed on him.



The local residents quickly rushed to assist, extricating Ayyappan from under the fallen branches. He was immediately transported to the Coimbatore Government Hospital by ambulance. Upon examination, doctors discovered he had sustained a leg fracture and are currently providing him with necessary medical treatment.
