Savukku Shankar Accused by Police Officer of Harassment During Transit to Trichy

Savukku Shankar was brought to Trichy by police on May 15 as part of an ongoing case. During transit, a police officer alleged harassment and sought medical examination in Trichy.

Coimbatore: Controversy surrounds Savukku Shankar as he faces allegations from a female police officer during his transfer to Trichy on May 15. The case, registered by the Trichy Cyber Crime police, added a new dimension as the officer accused Savukku Shankar of asking for her personal details such as phone number, asserting that his inquiries were personal and unprofessional.

Savukku Shankar reported that during his transit, he was verbally and physically harassed by the accompanying female officers, one of whom recorded the incident and shared it with police WhatsApp groups. Following these events, Shankar expressed grievances before the magistrate in Trichy Women's Court.

The court ordered a medical examination for Savukku Shankar at a government hospital in Trichy. Subsequently, an intense debate ensued at the court where Savukku Shankar's defense argued the baselessness of pursuing the matter across multiple districts. The prosecution demanded further questioning of Savukku Shankar under police custody to uncover the truth.

Amidst these proceedings, another officer who escorted Savukku Shankar appeared in court, accusing him of threatening to defame the officers by spreading false information through the media and probing her marital status and personal details during the van ride. Savukku Shankar's responses and the ongoing court developments continue to attract media and public scrutiny as the case unfolds.
