In an early morning incident on 13th, a young man was found fatally injured by a private bus near Mettupalayam bus station entrance in Coimbatore. The case is under police investigation after CCTV footage captured the event.
Coimbatore: A distressing road accident led to a young man's death when a private tour bus collided with him near the entrance of Mettupalayam bus station on the 13th of this month. Identified by an auto driver, Mohammad Asif, the police were alerted and the injured man was rushed to the Mettupalayam government hospital, where he was declared dead.
Upon investigation, police discovered from CCTV footage that a bus, operated by Sam Travels and regularly running between Bangalore and Ooty, was involved in the accident. The footage showed that after the man was hit, the bus driver Sivaraj and a cleaner immediately moved him to the side of the road, then drove away towards Ooty.

Further inquiry revealed that both the driver and the cleaner absconded after parking the bus in Ooty. Police have towed the bus to the Mettupalayam police station for further examination. Current efforts are focused on locating the driver and cleaner, and establishing the identity of the deceased.
