Due to continuous heavy rain, water flow increased in Panchalinga Falls near Thirumoorthy Hills in Tirupur District, resulting in the flooding of the Amanalingeswarar Temple around 7 PM.
Tirupur: In a significant weather event near Udumalai, the Amanalingeswarar Temple situated at the base of Thirumoorthy Hills was surrounded by flash floods from the nearby river due to incessant rain.
The regions around the catchment areas of Panchalinga Falls, including Kurumalai, Kulipatti, and Jallimuthan Rock, have witnessed continuous heavy rainfall, significantly increasing the water flow. This surge in water volume caused the rivers to swell, leading to the flooding of the ancient Amanalingeswarar Temple complex at approximately 7 PM last night.

Local officials and temple authorities responded quickly, securing the temple’s collection boxes and other movable assets by covering them with wooden planks to prevent damage. As the rain continues, temple workers are engaged in ongoing efforts to protect the structure and ensure that further damage is minimized.
