Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner Inspects Drainage Works amid Monsoon Preparations

Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner Ma. Sivaguruprabhakaran personally inspected the rainwater drainage works at Avinashi Road flyover and Lanka Corner, directing speedy completion.


Coimbatore: On May 18, 2024, the Municipal Commissioner of Coimbatore, Ma. Sivaguruprabhakaran, conducted a thorough inspection of the ongoing drainage clearing operations under the Avinashi Road flyover and various parts including Lanka Corner. The visit was aimed at overseeing the rapid removal of accumulated rainwater in these regions, a critical task as the monsoon season approaches.


During the inspection, Chief Engineer Anbalagan and Assistant Commissioner Senthilkumaran, along with other municipal officials, were present. They collectively assessed the progress of the works. The Commissioner instructed the officials to ensure the complete and swift removal of rainwater to prevent any potential disruptions during the rainy season. Additionally, it was noted that the drainage clearing operations across the municipality were proceeding at a fast pace, potentially mitigating flood risks in prone areas.


Such proactive measures are crucial for the city to handle the upcoming monsoon challenges efficiently and to ensure the safety and convenience of its residents.
