SP Velumani, former minister and AIADMK's secretary, accuses DMK government of creating artificial water scarcity by not executing water projects initiated during AIADMK's term.
Coimbatore: In a fiery statement made at Coimbatore Airport today, SP Velumani, the AIADMK's Headquarters Secretary, accused the DMK government of contributing to a manufactured water crisis by halting projects started by the previous AIADMK administration. He specifically mentioned the stagnation of the third phase of the Pillur water project, asserting that this inaction has exacerbated water issues in the Kongu region.
He met with journalists to discuss the escalating water crisis across Tamil Nadu and highlighted efforts made to resolve Coimbatore's water problems through petitions submitted to District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati. He criticized the DMK for not continuing the water supply projects essential for public welfare started during the AIADMK regime.

Furthermore, Velumani condemned misinformation spread by DMK IT wing and certain media outlets, asserting these sources often publish fabricated news regarding internal conflicts within AIADMK, overshadowing the actual progress made under Edappadi Palaniswami’s leadership. He stated that Edappadi Palaniswami always consults with senior administrators before making any decisions, emphasizing the unity and integrity preserved under his leadership. Velumani concluded with a promise that if AIADMK is elected in 2026, all public welfare projects will be swiftly executed.
