Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has been working in association with various NGOs in the city for implementing many social impact projects. Toilet First, My Shopping My Bag, Coimbatore Climate Change are some of the iconic projects accomplished by CCMC in the last financial year.
On 6th April, 2017, a comprehensive meeting named 'CSR Conclave' was organised by CCMC to discuss on the future plans, implementation of new projects and up gradation of the existing ones.
The meeting that took place in a private hotel was chaired by Dr.K.Vijaykarthikeyan, Commissioner of CCMC. Mr. Ramasamy, Director of Roots Group of Companies, Mr. Nataraj, CSR Head from LMW, Mr. Raja, CSR Head from CRI Pumps were present in the event.
The various projects accomplished by CCMC, last year were, Social capital,Toilet First,No Dumping, No Food Waste, My Shopping My Bag, Coimbatore Climate Change,Tree Transplantation, Dr.Kalam Library, Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya (Clean India) among others.
The organizers of these projects who are mostly representatives of NGOs briefed on the current status of their projects and suggested action plans to improve it. Futuristic plans to reach the project to larger set of audience was also discussed during the meet.
During the conclave, S.N.R Sons charitable trust along with CREDAI organization announced that they will be sponsoring to construct 50 toilets.
The organizations who worked tirelessly to accomplish Swacch Bharat Mission were honored during the meet.
Representatives from various companies including banks, NGOs, Rotary Club Members participated in the conclave.
