Traditionally, schools in the region reopen in the first week of June after the holiday period. However, reopening dates may sometimes be postponed due to extreme summer temperatures or other logistic reasons.
This year, following the parliamentary election results on June 4, there were speculations about a possible delay in school reopening. Nonetheless, the Education Department has confirmed that for the academic year 2024-2025, schools for classes 1 to 12 will commence on Thursday, June 6. This announcement was made on May 24.
